DOH Doughnut
Melbourne
Our design draws inspiration from the brand’s identity and temperament. The client envisioned a space that is bright, clean, minimalist, and soothing. To achieve this, we restricted the color palette to soft white tones. In contrast with the existing concrete textures, the white finishes accentuate our design elements, while also allowing the vibrant colors of the donuts to stand out more vividly.

Concept and design thinking
Throughout the space, we adopted minimal geometric lines—clean, sharp, and free from unnecessary ornamentation. The display area serves as the focal point of the design. By arranging simple cubic forms in staggered layers, we created a display with both depth and playfulness. This area functions not only as the donut showcase but also as a visual menu and, importantly, as the signature feature of the entire shop. In terms of materiality, we emphasized a natural aesthetic, incorporating limestone, a marble counter, and white gravel details. In certain areas, these choices blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors, offering customers the same sense of ease and relaxation they would feel in an open-air environment.
